Nantahala Falls

Nantahala Gorge Golf Club is a fantasy design for Jack Nicklaus 6 Golden Bear Challenge. Located in western North Carolina, the Nantahala River, "river of the noonday sun", runs through Nantahala Gorge, creating one of the southeast's favorite Class III whitewater runs. The course winds along the river and into the adjacent foothills, providing big elevation changes. Deep bunkers, trees, rocks, and rolling fairways, along with the river, create a challenging golf experience. And if you look in the river you might just see our paddlers! Background by Brian Silvernail.

The 3rd hole is a downhill par 3. The right-hand pin placements bring the small creek into play.

The 13th green is right by one of the many Class III rapids on the river. The river noise can make it hard to concentrate!

The 16th is a long par 5 starting with an elevated tee some 70 feet above the green.
